THIS QUARTER'S RECIPIENT

PRESENTING CHARITIES

Our meeting this quarter took place at the Elmira Legion. We have now donated over $148,000 since the group’s start in February 2019. What an impact this group has had for the many deserving local charities. Our membership continues to be 91 members, so if you have a friend who would consider joining our efforts, please refer them to our About page.

NEW MEETING FORMAT
Leigh and Sandra shared a few changes that will be made to the format of the 100 Woolwich Women Who Care meetings. Members will continue to nominate charities. Nominated charities must be a registered charity and be able to provide a charitable tax receipt for each donation received. The charity must also be able to demonstrate that they support the residents of Woolwich Township. If the charity meets this criteria, the charity is entered into a ‘hat’. At each meeting, there will be two (2) charities randomly selected from the ‘hat’ and will be the presenting charities at the following meeting.

UPDATE FROM NOVEMBER RECIPIENT
The recipient of the November 2022 meeting was Scotland’s Yard – Grand River Hospital Foundation. The money raised from our donations was put towards the procurement of a 7 million dollar PET Scan machine. Unfortunately, Joy Stewart was unable to attend the February meeting. She has been invited to join us at our May meeting to share an update of their project.

DONATE NOW

To donate to the Elmira District Community Living for the Rickshaw e-bike, please use blue button.

Elmira District Community Living presented to ask for a donation to purchase a Rickshaw e-bike. This type of bicycle allows those with intellectual disabilities to ride a bike with the support of their caregiver. This funding will support the purchase of one Rickshaw e-bike. See a picture of this accessible form of transportation here.

We also heard from Janice from Pet Patrol. Pet Patrol is a volunteer run, no kill, non-profit cat rescue organization located in Woolwich Township. They have rescued and found homes for over 10,000 cats over more than 25 years.
